Storm Surfers 3D (Storm Surfers 3D)
Special Screening - Doha Tribecca Film Festival 2012
Synopsis
Seventy-five kilometres out to sea, a colossal wave breaks on its way to the shores of Western Australia. After a lifetime of seeking out the world’s biggest and most dangerous swells, big-wave riders Tom Carroll and Ross Clarke-Jones set their sights on conquering this monster surf – and filmmakers Christopher Nelius and Justin McMillan are on hand with state-of-the-art 3D technology to capture the death-defying ride. Adrenaline junkies will thrill to the sheer craziness of Carroll and Clarke-Jones’s daredevillish antics and near-fatal spills, and the truly awesome 3D effects are nothing short of spectacular. Yet there’s a fascinating human story behind the hi-jinks on the open seas. Family obligations call this kind of risk-taking into question, and neither man is as young as he once was. Nerve sometimes fails, and aging bodies don’t always respond to split-second decisions. There’s a fine line between coming home safe, and not coming home at all.
NB: 'Storm Surfers 3D' is presented in English with no Arabic subtitles.
