Farewell DTFFMy heart was bumping furiously – I couldn’t wait to go to DTFF. As I entered the building, I saw a Ady our editor, who gave me a sneak peek and I loved it. After a while we met with Judy and took a golf cart all the way to Building 16 to the Express Yourself panel. I met sooo many famous people (Arabian Knightz, Malikah and B Boy). We waited and waited till some grownups and teenagers rapped – it was awesome, especially when we took pictures with them.

The time had come to an end. I was so sad that today was our last day and I wouldn’t see Hayley and Jeana maybe for another year.

I am Adnan, DFI Kids Access Reporter, reporting my last assignment.

Hope I’ll experience this again next year.

It was sad today to see DTFF end. But I mean all good things have to end, right? Luckily I’ve got some absolutely awesome memories.

Today was a good day to end though, in my opinion. There was a workshop run by Malikha and the Arabian Knightz (both hip-hop artists) called Express Yourself. Kids like me learned how to create their own rap within a few hours! I found it quite cool. My partner Karim and I got to interview some of the participants, asking them questions about their raps. They all did a fantastic job and I could see by their answers that they learned a lot of new things!

Later on there was a Doha Talks show called “Express Yourself- Family Day Panel”. And I’m just going to skip to a point here… It was really fun. Malikha, B-boy (break dancer) and the Arabian Knightz were interviewed and were asked questions such as: ‘What quote do you live by?’, ‘What are three things you can’t live without?’ and so on. I found it really interesting and got to ask the Arabian Knightz a question that I couldn’t ask them on the red carpet! That question was: ‘How do you agree on important decisions?’ Their leader, Karim, gave me a humorous answer. He said: ‘We take it outside… Hehehe, no, no, we vote democratically. But usually whatever Karim says, goes.’ Karim is a funny guy. He was also the one on the red carpet wearing a camouflage T-shirt and told me: ‘They said to wear something formal but I guess my formal is not the same as their formal.’ “Express Yourself- Family Day Panel” was super enjoyable.

Overall, this whole DFI Kids Access Reporters was a great experience. I learned a lot of new reporting skills and I got to wear a press badge! (That may sound weird, but wearing a press badge felt marvellous to me!). I met amazing people and I had a brilliant time! I can’t decide which event I liked best! I want to thank those who made DFI Kids Access Reporters possible this year. It was a great opportunity! Maybe I want to be a reporter someday…
