Doha Film Institute presents family friendly and football inspired films at the Doha Film Experience screenings at Heenat Salma Farm

Doha, Qatar; November 17, 2022: Film lovers are in for a visual treat at the idyllic Heenat Salma Farm from Nov. 24 to Dec. 16, as the Doha Film Institute brings the most endearing and inspiring selection of films from around the world for the Doha Film Experience.
Against a breathtaking backdrop of the natural beauty of autumn, audiences will enjoy beloved classics, family dramas and football-inspired movies alongside a range of delectable cuisine made from the farm’s home-grown produce. Many will seize the opportunity to catch up with timeless works of art, others to relive their fondest memories of watching inspiring movies that have made a difference to the lives of many.

Among the selection of films to be screened at Heenat Salma Farm are:
Theeb (Jordan, UK, Qatar, UAE/2014) by Naji Abu Nowar the multiple award-winning film, also nominated for the Academy Awards in the Best Foreign Language Film will be screened on Thursday, Nov. 24 at 7 PM. Bekas (Sweden, Finland/2012), directed by Karzan Kader will screen on Friday, Nov. 25 at 7 PM. The neorealist classic, Bicycle Thieves (Italy/1948) by Vittorio De Sica is on Saturday, Nov. 26 at 7 PM. Iranian director Majid Majidi’s Children of Heaven (Iran/1997) will be screened on Thursday, Dec. 1 at 7 PM. Supported by the Doha Film Institute, Freedom Fields (Libya, UK, Netherlands, USA, Qatar, Lebanon, Canada/2018), directed by Naziha Arebi will screen on Friday, Dec. 2 at 7 PM. A must-watch for family audiences, the live-action adaptation of Disney’s animated classic, Beauty and the Beast (USA/1991, directed by Bill Condon, will be screened on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 7 PM. The winner of the Silver Bear Grand Jury Prize at the Berlin International Film Festival, Offside (Iran/2006) by Jafar Panahi will screen on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 7 PM. The legendary Charlie Chaplin’s Modern Times (USA/1936) will be screened on Sunday, Dec. 11 at 7 PM. Nadia (France/2021) by Anissa Bonnefont is a powerful documentary that shares the incredible story of Nadia Nadim, the film will be screened on Monday, Dec. 12 at 7 PM. Wajib (Palestine, France, Germany, Colombia, Norway, Qatar, UAE/2017) by Annemarie Jacir is screening on Thursday, Dec. 15 at 7 PM. The inspiring film Captains of Zaatari (Egypt/2021) by Ali El Arabi will be screened on Friday, Dec. 16 at 7PM.
Taking place over four action-packed weeks, the Doha Film Experience is a rich cultural showcase that pays tribute to the nation in the year that the nation hosts the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, taking place at venues across the city including M7’s Sky Theatre, Qatar Foundation’s Oxygen Park, and the venues of the D’reesha Performing Arts Festival 2022, the Museum of Islamic Art, Lusail Boulevard , Heenat Salma Farm, Sikkat Wadi Msheireb and Vox Cinemas Doha Festival City.
