Doha Film Institute Announces Qumra 2025 Local and Global Cultural and Corporate Partners

Doha, Qatar; March 26, 2025: The 11th edition of Qumra, Doha Film Institute’s (DFI) annual talent incubator for Arab and international cinema, has announced leading global and national cultural, corporate and media partners for 2025.
To be held in-person from April 4 to 9 and online from April 12 to 14, Qumra 2025 will mentor 49 projects by filmmakers from 23 countries. A highlight of Qumra are the masterclasses and skills development sessions by Qumra Masters Lav Diaz, Darius Khondji, Walter Salles, Anna Terrazas and Johnnie To and other industry experts.
The support of the various cultural, industry and media partners underlines the importance of Qumra as a compelling platform for nurturing emerging film talent. Several of them are returning supporters of Qumra.

Qatar Museums and Museum of Islamic Art are Cultural Partners of the 11th Qumra. Qumra projects include recipients of DFI’s Grants Programme and several films by graduates of DFI’s year-round training initiatives including Feature Script Lab, Filmmaking Lab with Rithy Panh, Producers Lab, and Series Lab.
Selected projects will receive hands-on guidance on all aspects of filmmaking script and budget consultation, co-production strategy to marketing and packaging, project positioning, festival and distribution strategies, pitching and matchmaking.
