Synopsis
While a voice on the radio explains the many varieties of “maqloubeh”, excitedly lauding the traditional Palestinian meal for its nutritional value, five young men make their own version of the dish, spiced with some good-natured debate over whether to use eggplant or cauliflower. But just as they sit down to eat their creation, they are rudely interrupted. ‘Maqloubeh’ provides a cheerful take on the absurdity of life in Palestine under occupation – and concludes that life goes on no matter what.
